Chris Agnos
A personal site of essays on biosphere consciousness, the many kinds of intelligence and making a difference.
About the project
The personal site of Chris Agnos, featuring his writing on ideas such as biosphere consciousness, the many kinds of intelligence and why no one is too small to make a difference.
The challenge
Chris Agnos makes short video essays on big questions: why society is in so much pain, how trees talk, the shift to biosphere consciousness. He also offers video storytelling and consulting to organisations. The site had to work as a place to watch and read, and as a shop window for his services.
With a large and growing library of essays, the content needed to be easy to browse and pleasant to spend time with.
The solution
I built the site on WordPress with the Vlog theme, designed for video-led publishing, and WPBakery for the page layouts. The homepage presents the essays as a feed of strong titles, The Hungry Ghost Inside Us, How Plants Experience the World, The End of Kings, which invite a click on their own.
Video Storytelling, Sponsor a Story and Consulting each have their own page in the main menu, so organisations can see how to work with him, and a watch-later feature lets viewers queue videos. Contact forms and a set of author and social widgets complete the reading experience.
