EZ Wills

EzWills is an online will-writing service in Singapore, created by experienced lawyers. Its guided process lets people write a legally valid will themselves, with clear pricing for full and basic wills and testimonials from users.

Most people in Singapore know they should have a will and keep putting it off, because they picture a lawyer's office, legal jargon and a large bill. EzWills was created by experienced lawyers to change that: a legally valid will, written online, in plain language, at a fixed and modest price.

The difficulty is that a will has to be right. An invalid will is worse than none, so the product had to make the process simple without letting people make mistakes that matter.

I built EzWills as a custom PHP application with a Bootstrap front end. The homepage answers the three questions that stop people starting: is it legal, how much does it cost, and how long will it take. The answers are a completely legal will, $139 for a full will or $49 for a basic one, and a guided process you can finish today.

The will maker itself walks users step by step through questions drafted by the lawyers, then produces a document to download, print and sign in front of witnesses straight away, with detailed instructions and a signed sample so it is executed properly.

Around the product, a will-making tips section and knowledge base answer common questions, and real testimonials from users across Singapore, each with the date their will was made, give newcomers the confidence to begin.
