Personal & Portfolio
Nadia Mahmood
A designer's portfolio that opens on a bold animated name treatment and leads into her work, writing and contact details.
About the project
The personal portfolio of designer Nadia Mahmood. The site opens with a bold, animated name treatment on a black canvas and leads into her portfolio, about page, blog and contact details.
The challenge
A designer's portfolio is judged in the first few seconds, before anyone reads a word. Nadia needed a site that felt like her own work, bold, visual and a little unexpected, rather than a template with her name typed into the header.
It also had to stay easy to run day to day, so new projects and posts could go live without calling a developer.
The solution
The site is built on WordPress using the Colega creative theme, with a child theme holding every customisation so theme updates never overwrite them. It opens on a full-screen animated treatment of her name on a black canvas, then moves into a creative carousel of portfolio work.
The motion comes from GSAP and Swiper, with WebGL effects rendered through Three.js, while the about page, the blog and a Contact Form 7 enquiry form take care of the practical side of getting hired.
